Hi, I have three boys, 5, 4 & 2. My 4 year old Jamie has been diagnosed with Moderate ASD and Dyspraxia. J goes to a mainstream school with a base attached and spends most of his time in the base, but he is doing really really well. Although we still have our "moments" with him.

Nice to "meet" you Babyjane. As Fairydust said, this site is a life line - welcome. x

A big welcome from me too Babyjane.
I have 2 boys. The eldest is nearly 4 and has a diagnosis of high-functioning autism and is due to start at a mainstream school in September.

Hi BabyJane, great to 'meet' someone new.

My 2 and a half year daughter has Down's syndrome.

I look forward to 'chatting' to you.

Like fairydust this site is a godsend and I don't know what I ever did without it, it's GREAT.

Hi babyjane and welcome.

I've got two boys five years and almost six months. My five year old has behavioural problems and is waiting for an appointment to see another phycologist who I hope will be able to help him and me.

This place is great and there's lots of support.

Hi- I'm Sharon and i have 3 boys too!

Tom is 10- Asperger's/ADHD
Leight is 7 and is on the way to a diagnosis .... of Asperger's/Dyspraxia
And alex- is 5 next week and i have a feeling that he is ADHD/Asperger's. (though if i am right he is 'mildly' affected...if that's possible)

The 2 older ones are unstatemented- so are in mainstream with no specific support.

Tom takes Concerta (like Ritalin) for ADHD and him and Leigh both take melatonin for sleep

This Special needs area on MN is my safety net- and i often post on here when i've come home from school in tears in the past- and there are many wonderful people on here who understand!

Hope you feel at home!

jmb1964 · 13/05/2004 00:06

Welcome! We have four children, but the one who features in the posts is the second, a 6yo boy with Aspergers. He's in mainstream with full-time support, but despite that things aren't going as well as they might be and we're just entering another round of case conferneces etc..
Like the others, Mumsnet has been a lifeline for me when things get difficult!

lou33 · 13/05/2004 12:50

Welcome . I have 4 children, the oldest three have a collagen deficiency causing hypermobile joints, and my youngest has cerebral palsy. Mumsnet is definitely the most supportive site I have used.

babyjane · 13/05/2004 19:23

Thanks everyone for your lovely welcome, it will probably take me a while to remember who everyone is (if I ever do - my memory is not what it once was!!!!).

Look forward to "chatting" with you all.

Hi babyjane:
I have 2 DDs - DD1 has no trouble except for being a sensitive 9 yr old. DD2 - age 4 - has recently been confirmed as having autism so I have been spending a lot of time lurking and some time sharing. The sharing and support found on this site is fabulous!! See ya 'round.
