Ds was shouted at for not knowing what the colours of his class flag means.

He is in a school of over 400, around three kids have EHC / statement.

He has a statement Ffs!!! Not a genius, in fact i think I'm presuming that if he has a statement and only 3% of the child population has a statement / ech then maybe he has learning difficulties. Maybe he going to going to get things wrong.

I am fuming. Not sure if should email the head or just write a comment in his reading diary.

Tribunal for contents in two months.

Dd3 got shouted at last yr for something trivial,I emailed the school and said I dont shout at my anxious child so I dont expect so called professionals to shout at her either!!

Ah I was so happy over summer, because for a moment I forgot that everything is a fight. That not only do I have to raise a non verbal toddler with ASD with jack all help and a dyspraxic, language disordered, sensory difficult child with complex needs while being told "he's fine" but I also need to deal with prats who have just crawled out of a cave with there "I don't belive in all that nonsense" poison

I hope my toddler gets into MS - and craps in her bag let her shout him into a "normal functioning range"

I have space for about two lines in his reading book.

Mini2boys has a statement. The bottom three % have statements, not the top three. He doesn't know what his class flag means, even know his birthday, I expect he is going to be shouted at on a daily basis. Maybe "being shouted at when wrong" should be added as a target on his pathway plan. Yours seethingly pissed off and disillusioned " THAT mum of THAT child"

Describe how the shouting impacted on him in one sentence. And then, ask, "How do you propose NOT damaging my vulnerable son in the future?"

Eat them alive. Two months is a very long time in the life of any child. Then, store as evidence of present placement incompetence unsuitability.

He said he didn't cry, but it was the first thing he told me on pick up. Private EP and SLT said he has very low self esteem so I think he took it in his stride, he expects no better.

Don't just put it in his reading book, write to the school, keeping a copy. Point out that shouting at a child for something that is a direct consequence of his learning difficulties is disability discrimination which is unlawful.
