Finally we have a diagnosis.

For any one that remembers, I was xenzani, we finally got a diagnosis for dd2. She has ASD which I knew but it's now official.

Basically being left to it although the clinical psych wants to see if her team can offer anything.

They both acknowledged that girls show differently which was good. The home and school observations are what swung it seeing as she passed the ADOS.

Very relieved to get it as it means I was right. I want to take the letter to her old school who had her down as naughty and basically pushed her out. The PRU that she is still at will need to change a few things but the clinical psych said that the LSA there works brilliantly with dd2.

Good for you. The school needs to have this information so maybe they can make more informed decisions about the next ASD child they meet. There's so many teachers who think they know what autism looks like having worked with one or two kids on the spectrum...they're all so different.

Totally get what you mean about visiting old school. I sooooo want to tell DS infant school who kept on about his poor social communication but wouldn't support him because it's bound to be due to him being an only child from a LP family.

Hi, thats great news:) Can I be nosy and ask how long it took to get the diagnosis. My ds (who I suspect has ASD) has seen a paediatrician twice so far and was diagnosed with ?evolving ADHD. He is also due to have blood tests on thurs to rule out any underlying medical cause for his behaviour e.g overactive thyroid. The paediatrician says he wants to see how he gets on at the PRU which he is due to start in Sept for 2 days a week and he will also be attending ms school 3 days a week. I just wondered if you had to push for an assessment?
