Upgraded to hrc!! Yay!!

Applied for a reconsideration to dd's DLA. Was previously getting mrc, lrm. She's been awarded hrc, lrm! I sent the form in 5 days late (due to severe problems we were having at the time with dd - school, mental health etc) so they've only backdated it to the day they received it, not the 6 weeks previous telephone call. Can I challenge this? Or is it just best left alone?

When I saw the thread title I knew it would be you frazzled from the other thread. That's great news you got it yay!

It's bitter sweet though this DLA isn't it? I'm pleased for the recognition but it highlights our dc's problems. I'm so grateful to get the upgrade that I'm not sure it's worth asking about backdating the 6 weeks.

Don't forget to inform tax credits as there's a premium bit for hrc.

I haven't received the letter informing me of the hrc yet, so I'm going to renew on old basis then ring them with hrc info when I get the letter. I think that's probably the best way to do it.
