CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Jimjams, yes, get your car tax exemption, You're entitled to it.

Do you get the higher rate care component too? You know that you can get things like carers allowance if you get higher rate care component.

The blue badge scheme is usually run by the local council, ring them for an application form. It isn't dependant on you getting dla mobility component tho', normally it's your drs. say-so.

Glad it came thru'

Great news!

Chocol8 · 07/05/2004 11:23

Congratulations Jimjams! I bet that's a relief! How long did the whole thing take from submitting your forms?

misdee · 07/05/2004 11:36

you should get a blue badge. most councils accept high rate mobility as making u def need a badge. we now have one as dh finally got awarded hugh rate mobility last month.

Excellent Jimjams . Still waiting to hear about ds2, but I don't expect a problem as he can't walk at all! If that doesn't qualify what does ?

I saw a website explianing how to claim back the tax, if I can find it again I will post a link.

DVLA guide to exemption

Great news Jimjams, well done! Word of warning though, be very careful to understand the rules and regs about where you can and can't park, I've never had so many parking tickets since I got the Blue Badge Its probably less complicated where you are though as we have lots of different areas in each road (residents', loading, traders etc). BTW, so far I've only paid one as I always write to explain that I made a mistake and why but waiting to hear about another....

tigermoth · 08/05/2004 09:15

jimjams, if only every application you've made was that easy. Hope this makes a great difference.

luckymum · 08/05/2004 09:46

Jimjams - Great news congratulations

dottee · 12/05/2004 10:42

Brilliant Jimjams - I like good news.

Want to hear some more? I got a letter from DLA at weekend saying my dd's higher rate mob and middle rate care are both now indefinate. I hoping that means no more forms to fill in ... ever!

hmb · 13/05/2004 07:01

Great news, Jimjams, I'm glad all that hard work paid off in the end!

lou33 · 19/06/2004 19:46

Can I pinch this thread to say,3 months after applying for DLA mobility I called them today to be told ds2 has been given higher rate mobility , definitely for 5 years, but possibly until he is 12. She couldn't recall as the form was not at her desk, but we are very happy
