hepl
I need a simple book about puberty.
DD is 11 and things are changing. I have tried to explain the changes but think a book would help.

2shoes, I went to Down's syndrome Association conference on Thursday and attended the workshop on sex & relationships education where books were discussed in lots of detail.

Highly recommended are the Family Planning Association's 'Talking together...about growing up' and 'Talking together...about sex and relationships', both books available from the FPA, www.fpa.org.uk, 01865 719418

Down's Syndrome Scotland have a booklet available online called 'Let's talk about puberty' aimed at young people with a learning disability.

www.bild.org.uk also publishes a full reading list on sexuality and personal relationships for people with learning disabilities.

I hope those suggestions are useful.

I've got a long list of recommendations here, these are ones that came to mind in particular after seeing them at the conference.
