what do your DC with autism play with

DD (7, autism and LD) used to play a lot with Thomas trains (pretty obsessed) but has recently lost interest. she is not really into anything. she prefers to watch stuff on youtube or go outside (which is not always practicle for me as she needs 1:1 and I have other DC).

what are your DC into? looking for some inspiration about new things to introduce.

PS: she is not really keen on Lego (neither the building not the play aspect).

DS doesn't really play. He draws and writes about anything road or train related (he is 5) he has the odd day of playing but that's it.

Does she have sensory issues? Toys with lights/sounds or things to do with movement?

I find she just end up stimming with free access to sensory toys.

Playmobil, trampoline, musical instruments.

Dd3 is 12, she does have lots of screen time but does the other stuff as well.

My dd7 loves sticker books - usually to do with fashion [http://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk/book/9781848779044/isbn/Art-Cards-Fashion-by-Hennie-Haworth.html here]]

She also has a sketch pad from Tiger and uses it to draw fashion sketches. Some pretty cool art-shop markers in neon, oil pastels etc.

She is a little obsessed with her various collections - erasers, blank note books. She'll often play with these.

Interestingly her 8 yo nt sister also loves this. They will choose a 'club' every night and do artwork (sounds blissful, but it is very fraught because of dd).

She is currently waiting for diagnosis in 2 months, but her referral comes from specialist cahms. I've been pushing for assessment for almost 2 years After referral to specialist cahms for self-harming, theyve suggested she'll likely end up with a diagnosis of ASD and SPD.

Her favourite now is My little pony and the spin off equestria girls. She's totally obsessed with the TV programme and has several pony figures and equestria girl dolls.
She also collects Beanie boos (she has about 15!).

What kind of things is she watching on youtube? You could perhaps buy something related to what she's watching?

My ds (turning 5 in a few weeks; recently diagnosed with asd) likes things related to stuff he enjoys watching or reading. At the moment he spends most of his time being a 'medic' (ie a doctor) as he's obsessed with Paso from the Octonauts. He has a doctor costume and a 'medical box' which we've filled with bandages, a stethoscope, an old ear thermometer etc). He spends a good part of each day taking my temperature and bandaging things. Also loves his Toy Story dolls. He also loves gadgets and just got a camera so is spending a lot of time playing with that.
