WE have just completed the last of the asessments today, we saw an orthoptist.

We have been told over the last 3 weeks that she has:

Speech and language delay (which we knew)
Autistic Traits (which we knew)
Left side weakness (we already have dx of hemiplegia for her)
Hearing problems (we didnt know)
A Wandering eye (we didnt know)
Eating problems-refrerral for an endoscopy (we werent aware that she would need this)
Problems with her motor skills (had an idea)
Sensory problems (we knew)

Its a very draining experience having an asessment at the CDC and we dont have an appointment to discuss it until Jan 07.

DD has been very upset these last couple of weeks she,s been very tearful and generally not happy which is not surprising and i want to wrap her up in cotton wool which isnt the right thing to do but thats how i feel at the moment.

hugs for you and dd

What a nightmare having to wait so long to discuss things

Hi Jenk hope you and dd are feeling a bit better. It must be very stressful and upsetting for you as well as dd. Just give her lots of hugs and i can fully understand why you feel like wrapping her up in cotton wool at the minute, its understandable after all the asessments and the news you have just had .

Jenk

Horrible too that you've been left hanging on until January to get the answers you need. Thinking of you and dd. xx

i have been giving her lots of hugs all day and today we kept her off nursery and we took her and DS out for lunch with my nun, brother, grandad, uncle and aunty and of course her daddy and she was spolit but all she wanted to eat was beans

But she is such a happy little girl and tonight i came downstairs in my outfit that im wearing on friday to our party and she looked at me and said "beautiful mummy" i filled up but that made my day.

she sounds really beautiful

I had visions of a line of people all trailing after a nun just then.

She sounds gorgeous, Jenk. (dd, not the nun!)
