ASD concerns about 18 month old - next steps?

Hello everyone,

For several months now we've had concerns about our 18 month old DS. He's a lovely lively little boy but his eye contact isn't great, especially close up, and there's a few other niggles which are making us suspect there might be something. I've done the M-Chat and it's come back as low risk. However we've decided to go and see the HV and so I wondered if anyone has any advice on what to say to her at the appointment and how to get the best out of it. I'm in such a fret about it all and feeling so down with worrying :(

Thanks so much.

Keep a diary of all the things you notice and give it to her.

Try not to fret Flowers

Can you go through the fact files on this link?

Thank you everyone and thanks for your kind words. These files look great, so helpful, and a good idea about the diary too. I'll jot some things down before our visit so I don't get all flustered when I'm there.

I love him to bits and just want to make sure that we can give him the support that he needs. Will have to try not to fret too much!

Thanks Flowers
