I phoned for a DLA pack in March, filled it in and sent it off before the date stamped on the form. I got a letter about 3 weeks later saying we hadn't been awarded it. I phoned to request a reconsideration and was told there was no record of my claim on the system, which means it's been dealt with clerically. They had to phone me back the next day, at which point I asked for a reconsideration. That was 2 weeks ago. I was told I'd probably hear within 10 days. Today, I had a text thanking me for my claim application and that it would take up to 8 weeks to process.
I don't understand what a clerical claim is, or why I had mine done like that. I asked them and they said that's just what they do sometimes. The text today though, seems to suggest they've started my claim anew, rather than the reconsideration?
Has anyone any idea what's going on, please?
