Has anyone got a statement for medical needs only?

Has anyone managed to get a statement for medical needs only or retain one when the child has caught up with education and only has health issues?? In particular a health issue that may not be life long. Many thanks.

Not me, but I have heard of people being able to get statements/EHCPs for things like diabetes and epilepsy, and conditions that mean the child will be out of school a lot. I heard that Maxwell Gillott had had success with statements for diabetes.
