Belated update on Tribunal... we won!

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the delayed update after all the help I got here (I will explain the delay below), But anyway... We won our tribunal.

Similar story to a lot on here... The LA's Barrister was a buffoon, the LA case was full of inconsistencies, they lied consistently and every time the school's HT was asked to speak they looked at the Barrister for approval.

To win was not hard. We didn't get everything we wanted but DC now has a much better statement. What became clear from the process was that we could spend the next few years fighting these idiots for marginal gains and so now the battle starts to rid ourselves of them for good.

The delayed update... Until recently I held a position of responsibility at DC's school and now I don't.

Is this because of the Tribunal? Absolutely!
Is this because we won? IMHO yes.

It's been a lot of added stress we did not need... Off topic for here.

Thanks everyone again... P2K

YAY!! Well done p2k2, its good to hear.

We are awaiting our decision but have already made next step plans. Have realised that the bank holiday may delay our decision by a few days so still hanging on!

Good luck Flowers

That's great news p2k2 , fine work Flowers and best of luck for the next round...

"To win was not hard" - I know what you mean, but a tenner in direct payments says you're underplaying how much effort & stamina it took to get to the point where you got to the hearing and won...

Also, here's hoping that you managed to leave the 'position of responsibility' at DC's school on your own terms. Do you have contacts on the inside still?

P2K2 · 26/05/2015 21:46

Absolutely right regarding the effort and stamina Ugger... I was in no way underplaying how much we had to live and breathe this for months and I hope it didn't sound arrogant.

"To win on the day was not hard" would be a more accurate comment.

Cheers,
P2K2

Ah well done, I'm all booked up for my third.

I'm over fighting all this. It's got my boy somewhere, it's gained us something but I feel you when you say fighting for marginal gains. I get that 100%

I think I'm fighting right now to show I have some teeth. Let's see.

uggerthebugger · 26/05/2015 21:57

Definitely didn't sound arrogant! - sounded more like "in a sane world, no-one on the LA side would have thought they had a legal or moral case to defend at hearing - but it's not a sane world, so the LA keeps it going just in case the parents break..."

uggerthebugger · 26/05/2015 22:00

And those marginal gains? They add up. They really do. No way I'd have got DS2's needs met without an attritional campaign - marginal gains each year, over a few years, did the job.

Awww FANATASTIC news P2K2

Great Result - so chuffed for you and DC
