Cab I just have a little cry here please?

Have posted under various names but keep nc due to stalkers!

Ds didn't get invited to a party at school. He hasn't been to one in over two years. In fact the last one he went to was this little boys.

I know I know normal story. Except this child is meant to be his best (only) friend. :(

The mum told me and she is genuinely lovely and I do appreciate her giving me the heads up and I know she tried to convince her son to invite ds. So I know the date and we will go do something fun if it comes up.

But still a bit sad, because that is now total social exclusion. And I know he won't understand why the boy hasn't invited him. In fact, even the boy can't give a reason to his mum. But none of the other boys play with him so I suspect it is that in part. They are all nine/ten.

Poor ds. :(

I'm so sorry. Please don't think this is the way it will always be. A friends son was never invited to any parties either (absolutely none!) so they always made sure he did lots of other fun activities. When he was 11 yrs old he suddenly made a friend and now things are much happier although he still doesn't get invited to parties he has playdates and has a companion he can do activities with......dont despair:)

God, we had this. Not invited to best friend's party. I cried heaps and heaps (not helped by the fact the mum was NOT as helpful). Things are a little better now but we keep ourselves very busy and don't expect invites.
