One of the learning mentors has been to our house this morning to see DS.
She spent an hour chatting with him,playing yu-gi-oh cards and drawing pictures, she interacted with him really well.
New school are really helping with trying to get him back in, they have promised him that he doesnt have to stay for dinner, that he can come home, that if he stays he can see the menu in advance and choose what he wants, he can stay indoors with a learning mentor and choose a couple for friends at breaks/dinner times and play games or go on the computer, they are really positive and so different from his last school.
DS has said he is prepared to go into school next week with his home tutor for an hour into a quiet room and do some work there while i sit outside.
The asessment time limit is up this thursday so it will be interesting to see if they say he can have a statement, but they will have a fight on their hands if they say no cos we are going to take legal action against them for failure to educate as this has been going on for a year now.
Naughty PP lady told me off the record that the vibes she is getting is that DS will be statemented as the LEA have realised that i am not going to go away and that i will just keep taking them to tribunal.
Hope she is right and we can put an end to all this stress and fighting thats been going on for over a year now.
Feeling quite positive about it.
