What to ask schools about ASD

My 10 yo DD has Asperger's and sensory issues. The sensory issues are "officially" NHS diagnosed, but ASD is self diagnosed so far, GP appointment is on Monday to start the process which can take up to 2 years apparently, gulp! In the meantime I need to decide about secondary schools. So I thought I would ask open questions like "what do you have in place for girls with ASD", "how many girls on the spectrum do you have at the moment" but is there anything else more specific I should ask? Thanks!

I would ask the questions specific to you DD's needs. Every child with autism is different. They could have 100 asd girls but it doesn't necessarily mean they can meet your dd's needs.
If she has a sensory timetable/diet then ask them how/when/where that would be implemented. Is their a safe place for her to retreat to if it gets too much for her. Is there a buddy system or social group for her to attend etc.
Write down all of the things you think she needs or might need help with and then figure out what to ask them from that.
