I was a bit surprised to receive a letter yesterday saying my DT1 has been referred to an EP.

I spoke to the nursery manager about extra support, possibly 1-2-1 for my twins and she agreed it was a good idea. I emailed my LA asking what support was available for my DTs in nursery and was told someone will get in touch.

Yesterday a letter came through - is this connected or another part of the assessment process? They both have ASD, diagnosed by a private paediatrician.

Yes they must be assessed by an EP as part of the process.

They will probably be observed at nursery a couple of times and information gathered from the senco and key worker. Dont worry, it is unlikely he or she will even speak to your children in my experience.

Good luck Flowers

Thanks, it's reassuring to know it's part of the process and not something I've triggered. Hopefully it will lead to extra support.
