Just wondering if anyone has had any success with grants for equipment, items, funding for anything? If so, which charity have you had most success with?

I am not sure if mines local so not naming it, but got one via the gp for £500 and one from county for £500 both for respite but could be spent of a wide variety of things

My friend has had grants from the family fund a few times. I applied a few years ago but it took too long so dm ended up helping me out.
I'm on my phone so can't link to the website but it should come up on Google.

Cerebra is a good one - they award up to 80% of the cost of the item:

We get one from Family Fund every year. They will offer grants for a range of things, we usually choose some kind of gadget for DS (laptop, ipad, xbox) plus a household expense like bedding. I like them as you only have to supply a professional reference the first time you apply and then you can reapply every year. I find it intrusive and a bit embarrassing to ask professionals to sign forms for grants every time, especially when there's so much evidence on paper of his needs.

Newlife helped fund a special needs car seat for my DS, they were really helpful and quick. OT did the referral but I think you can self refer.
