And it was inconclusive. She gave good eye contact and done really well although got bored and restless toward the end. One thing I noticed was that when doing an activity using some objects to make a story, hers was based on the SaLTs one. She was also quite one sided with the conversation, answering the questions she was asked but that was about it unless they spoke to her again.

Took nearly 20 minutes to get her to co operate which resulted in me bribing her with a my little pony blind bag. She spent that time laying on the floor and then under the chairs.

The clinical psychologist did pick on a couple of things that concerned her and wants to see dd at school.

Don't know what happens now, guess wait and see what comes out of the observation at school.

Rather frustrating as I was hoping to have had a diagnosis today so I could tell the PRU she is in and start looking to get her out of there.

Hang in there. A dx from viewings in two places carries more weight. It may turn out for the best in the end.

I agree with polter ask them to do a DISCO assessment!! ADOS was designed based on the presentation of autistic boys, girls and some boys present can very differently.

DISCO was designed by Judith Gould to pick up the hard to diagnose people who get missed .

Good luck, its not over yet, inconclusive does not mean no Flowers

Def get a DISCO done for sure. Hopefully that will give you the answers you need.

Thanks all.

Got the SaLT report back and apart from a couple of things with her tone of voice, that she is a bit abrupt, loud and over excitable, that she got restless and more fidgety, reaching out for the cupboard across the table when talking about herself, couldn't name a single friend, advantage of being married was that you'd gain a brother in sister in law, not once did the fact you marry for love come into it. She quoted my little pony for friendships and what being loyal meant.

They wrote that as soon as I bribed her that she came round instantly and was okay which she didn't, she was still unhappy for a fair few minutes but was more cooperative. She chose that one time to not tic at all, and constantly gave very good eye contact when most of the time she doesn't, didn't talk about my little pony much at all. She was very literal in her thinking with sayings like heart of gold, and pigs might fly.

SaLT has closed the case on her part, saying no signs of a social communication disorder.

If nothing comes out of the observation at school, which I'd love to be done on a Tuesday when they have music, for the psychologist to come in before, dd is told she has to go music and to see what happens. Dd will of course be good as gold, I will request a DISCO assessment and probably a second opinion elsewhere if they refuse.

Another small update.

Got the lead report this morning and something I wasn't told last week was that it was felt that dds intelligence may have allowed her to 'pass' the ados, which is part of the reason why the clinical psychologist wants to observe dd at school. A small amount of hope that after the observation, we may get a bit further after all.

Here's hoping!

Absolutely polter masking is a big issues.

Good luck xen Flowers

Just seen this. That's good they are recognising masking. My DS is certainly eager to please new adults but that mask has to slip eventually!

Best of luck Flowers

The strange thing though is I've never known dd to mask.

Maybe that is what she does when having a good day although she doesn't meltdown at home but then that may be because she goes straight onto youtube to watch mlp videos.

Hopefully dd shows how she really is in school, may have a meltdown as she will recognise the pysch and will know she is there for her. Either that or she will mask again.
