Hi everyone.

Ok. I'm in a bit of a dilemma.

I am appealing DS statement and we have a tribunal date in late June.

The only problem is that I need a good EP report, but most of the EP are fully booked

What shall I do?!

Can anyone recommend EP, preferably based in London.

Thank- you.

it takes a while but you will find one - took me quite a few attempts to get one hence why im sticking with her again for the next one! im not sire about the London area - have you tried sos sen as they do have a list of EPs and they are south based so may be able to point you in the right direction

We phoned RB based just outside London and luckily for us she had a cancellation so our DS was seen within 3 weeks from first call ...not cheap but worth its weight in gold !
So it is worth putting your name down just in case ..good luck

I'm just a bit over-whelmed by this.

I am not entitled to Legal aid, but don't have a lot of money to fund independent reports. On top of that, quite a few specialists are booked up.

Should I throw in the towel.

I don't think you need to throw in the towel, you have only just started!
I think for your case you just need a good ep report and a good salt report to support what you are asking for.

adrianna22 · 16/03/2015 21:22

Thanks Fairgame for replying.

So far I've contacted 12 specialists and they've all told me that they are booked.

would you consider possible asking the tribunal to move the hearing date? I guess the issue you are finding is that all the secondary appeals are now hitting sendist and those dates are being fixed before july so its now the mad season for professionals. mine is based in Worcester so probably not too brilliant for you

adrianna22 · 16/03/2015 21:56

That's what I was thinking bjk. Though, I would like to do my best and contact quite a few more specialists and see if any have a few more cancellations before I ask SENDIST to delay the tribunal.

Yo can always try just extending the evidence deadline and keeping the appeal date.

adrianna22 · 16/03/2015 23:45

Thanks for the information Senvet, how can I go about doing that?

OP posts:
adrianna22 · 17/03/2015 01:17

I really don't think I can afford all these independent reports. All of my income would be going into these reports. I will literally have not much money left for my basic living expenses. Sad

its so hard Adrianna - no one quite prepares you for the cost of everything and also if you want the expert to attend the hearing there is also a cost to that as well. senvet idea about the evidence deadling is good but that will buy you about 2 weeks at best as final evidence is 4 weeks before the hearing so you would be able to get an extenstion possible for a couple of weeks which may help you.

we have struggled over the last year, we only managed it as dh worked overtime every weekend. if you qualify for legal aid then you do get help for the reports but not that many people qualify for legal aid any more

adrianna22 · 17/03/2015 14:07

Yes I've found someone!

His name is David Urani. Is he good? I see his name pop up a few times. Though I know his experienced in ABA. I'm not after for an ABA school? But would he still be suitable you think?

bjkmummy · 17/03/2015 14:22

hes meant to be amazing Adrianna so well done you for getting him - I wouldn't worry about the ABA stuff as everyone rates him so im sure he will be perfect for you Smile

adrianna22 · 17/03/2015 14:23

Thanks bjk. I'll book him straight away!

Nice bloke too

adrianna22 · 17/03/2015 21:43

Spoke to soon! He is most probably booked up. Sad
