Dd3 was supposed to have been handed over to this EP in Septemeber but for some reason she was not seen!

The LA was told that she must be seen before the next tribunal and this week the EP has been in twice!

We met with her and some of the SEN team this afternoon and she does seem to have understood Dd3 and spotted her anxiety which is good news.

I felt she was supportive in the meeting and she says she wants to work with her on some coping strategies!

What we really need is for her to agree that Dd3 needs a statement/ehcp but I dont expect that will happen!

Hey ho, another twist in the roller coaster that is our life and another person who could potentially help. Lets hope so ay!!

One of the "team" was taken aback by what the EP was saying and had a "Cats bum face!" Wink

I told them they we werent going to force Dd3 to go when she is stressed too while the EP was there and she agreed, Cats bum face wasnt happy but the senco nodded when the EP agreed!

I told them how independent Dd3 is when she is not stressed.

Oh and the EP also said there is training work to be done!!

That sounds much more positive. Not that your dd3 is anxious, of course, but that someone else can see it! Perhaps "CatsBumFace" will reconsider their stance on the statement now or at the very least school will get onside.

Great minds polter , I emailed as soon as I got home Wink

I will ask for a draft of the report too. School had produced new paperwork which had targets on which I had never seen before!! I did say loudly, Ooohh I havent seen this before! Grin

One, Yes I was really pleased that she had spotted the anxiety after only meeting her twice!! It is a shame it has taken her a term and a half to get in there though. Fingers crossed someone will see sense about the statement! I wont hold my breath though!

glad that they are now doing something I need - not long now to you next hearing and with easter in the middle of it as well not many school weeks ahead of you.

since dd tribunal in January - we haven't seen a single IEP since so last term she didn't have one. also the constant telling of dd how amazing she was doing and telling her levels so she would come home and tell me have stopped now as well!!!!

just keep your guard up as your dd has now come back onto the radar due to the tribunal coming. good that the EP is seeing the anxiety - from now on catsbumface will be commonly know as CBF - im sure many of use on here have to deal with a CBF as well

Thanks bjk, I need to ring the Indie EP too and see what he wants to do next! He was thinking of doing some different testing with Dd3.

I think the LA EP is focussing on the anxiety and is leaving the academic stuff to school so I will keep quiet and use my indie one to look at whether she has made any progress or not!

CBF tried to tell us her writing is brilliant and very neat but the EP did this Confused and this Hmm.

We will see what happens next!!

LA EPs do sometimes actually do their jobs! I've found that the good ones keep moving on, though.

Ineedmorepatience · 07/03/2015 20:37

I think the good ones often give up and go private, like OT's ouryve! I think its because they get ground down with not actually being able to do what they trained for!
