After the mind games of my two appeals, winning my statement and recently being charged to hire a room for my slt to deliver slt - been told if I don't like it make a formal complaint.

Was also told that ds has caused additional expense to the school - yet the tribunal was told his needs can be met within budget.

So he is causing them hard work and money but at the same time he's no problem and all needs met within funds?

Toddler was also dx with asd this morning.

Can anyone pm me?

Have to draw a line under this

Help!

Flowers Sorry it's all so fucked up 2boys. I don't really think i can say anything to help (and i really wish i could). Your LA and school are complete shits but you already know that. I really admire your strength for getting this far trying to work with them because it probably would have broken me long before this stage!

It's been quite on here tonight but hopefully some of the others will be along soon.

Is the SLT identified within the SSEN and is it being paid for by the LA? If so why are you being charged room hire? Down to LA?

2boysnamedR · 25/02/2015 21:54

No the statement has two more weeks to be issued so Im keeping my indi SLT in place because, lets face it any provision could be months away. She has been going in for 16 months and this the first we have heard of room hire, pubic liabity excess, booking charges etc.

Polter - send as is - or covering letter?

Can you send them an invoice for your time spent going to meetings, writing letters, phone calls etc then add polters suggestion as an appendix?

Lol! Appendix it is then Wink I have sent my expenses off for tribunal so I might add this expense into that.

Impossible not to believe they are in cohoots. Rolling their eyes at us in the staff room.

I am supposed to be renewing toddlers dla and thinking of asd pre schools, but no - I must raise my formal complaint instead now.

I don't know who's email was ruder, mine or his.

Twilight zone here - why meeeee!!!????

Hi there - just some honks etc for now. Sounds like the others have given you a good steer. Oh and this

She has been going in for 16 months and this the first we have heard of room hire, pubic liabity excess, booking charges etc.

I have a feeling that Judge Judy would say that you had an oral contract that the school has just amended. I am not sure that they should do that, at least without some notice to make alternative arrangements. Try IPSEA legal, maybe?

2boysnamedR · 25/02/2015 22:57

I tried to phone ipsea tonight. I will try to book a call this week.

We are having a hard time, we put a long list of problems were not happy about re the tribunal so supposed to be building bridges. I can't get how they don't think this is bad bridge building material?

Bridge over the river kwei?
Bridge over troubled waters?

Wasn't the bridge over the river kwei built by prisoners of war against their will? Forced labour? Those building it was shot dead? Then it was blown up? I think that's what we're building here.

it isn't even stepping stones 2boys

Nigel1 · 27/02/2015 09:17

More to the point why have they now changed their view, for what reason?
Since this work is for the purpose of education then why are they being charged in the first place?
A quiet word in the ear of the LA officer may be of some help. I cant see that they would be very impressed.

2boysnamedR · 27/02/2015 14:21

I was told if I don't like it, make a formal complaint, which I will.

I'm sure the change to charging is because I'm the pita mum who won a appeal for a statement that they should have applied for.

Surely if the school are struggling so much they should be asking the LA for more money not you 2boys!!

Of course if they cant manage that you could keep your Ds at home for his SALT and fuck their attendance up Wink

Tunna · 27/02/2015 17:58

This beggars belief. I'd have half a mind to throw in a FOI to find out if they charge all the other services room hire such as PTA, school nurse, EP visits etc.

Well done on getting your ASD diagnosis, I know it's been very difficult for you lately Flowers

2boysnamedR · 27/02/2015 20:32

Asd diagnosis is for my toddler. Not of a shock that one!

Gp has asked another community pead to look again at my boy I won the statement for. I think it's going to be hard to convince the nhs to get a psychiatrist involved. Ds is ok with changes and has no repetitive behaviours. At least i can't see it.

Still looks I might have to go private

Toddler hugs and kisses and smiles = asd but older boys smiles and laughts = no asd

Confused? You bet ya
