DS had to go for a medical assessment as part of the LEA,s decision to assess him for SN.

The paediatrican was very nice and he read our private psychs report and asked had the LEA seen it and when i said yes he said - well they can see it again im including it as part of my report... WHAY HAY....another smack in the chops for them after them saying they wont accept the report, he said he agrees that DS does have AS although he cant dx as he has only seen him for an hour but that where it asks for his opinion he will put "Social and communication disorder", when he queried what i told him about DS temper tantrums.meltdowns at the start i whispered "mention the word school" so he asked him was he looking forward to his new school and DS completely flipped and started making growling noises and banging his hands on the table, its sad that i have to resort to this but if its the only way they accept DS for what he is...........

He also picked up on DS motor skills problems (finally) and at the end he said he is recommendeing that DS needs full support in the classroom and help in the playground.

and yesterday the Ed Psych phoned me to tell me that she is recommending support in the classroom/playground and that DS has a laptop/touch type screen as his handwriting is terrible but that its due to his motor skills problems, so today i collapsed when i got home. I was so so relieved that i was crying and i felt exhausted and had to go to bed, now i hope the woman at SEN takes note and does accept that DS needs statementing or else she,ll have me and IPSEA and we are going to sue the LEA if they refuse....

It's so good that people are finally starting to listen and take notice of your ds' needs.

Here's hoping the LEA will realise that they are outnumbered and outgunned.

Just wanted to add my support. Glad that things appear to be starting to work out. The temper tantrum bit was good as well. All I have to to start a tantrum is to mention to ds that he needs to come off the computer. He goes mental for 5 mins or more depending on what mood he is in.
