Anyone home educating in Derbyshire?

Hi just wondering if anyone on here home educates in Derbyshire.
Our son is 11 and has recently been diagnosed with Aspergers. He has always had a hard time of it socially and school life was getting worse for him so we pulled him out.
Now he is learning at home and is much happier and more confident but has no social life (not that he had a good one at school!).
So we would really like to know of any families in the area who home educate and maybe have meet ups. Any advice much appreciated thanks.

Apologies if you've already heard of them but Education Otherwise is very good and could perhaps help you in this regard. Also look at the Home education part of Mumsnet's website (if you have not already done so).

My friend could totally sympathise with your situation - her son is AS and has also had a hard time in school socially. He has not got a statement and not having that in place has not helped either. Things are so bad that they are going to emigrate next year.

Thanks Attilathemeerkat
We are going to subscribe to EO I know they are supposed to be good.
Good luck for your friend.
