I have just received the clinical psychologist's report for DD - she has an ADOS score of 9, which to my understanding puts her in the 'Aspergers' category. This is good news - she has recently moved schools, and her current school has a Autism wing which she can now officially access. What I found interesting was the comments from her previous (primary) school - they completed a SRS-2 assessment, noting no behavioural issues or concerns with social interaction, and her score was within a NT range. Has anyone else found that a school assessment is way off the mark? The teacher concerned was a depute head, very experienced, but never believed me when I voiced concerns - I suspect because DD was not disruptive and was doing well in class work.....
