Benefits advice DLA?Please don't slay me !

I wanted some advice as I am unsure if DD would qualify .
DD has ADHD and they think ODD and anxiety .She has no mobility problems .She is 14 and is capable in terms of keeping herself clean and goes out with friends etc.I had never thought of applying but a friend suggested I may be entitled. I really struggle for money and would be nice for her to do some extra clubs etc .
The expense of her losing things almost daily is really stressful . This term two coats ,one pair of trainers, a pe kit ,stationary and bus pass and we are only a few weeks in !

There is no harm in trying. DLA is paid if your child needs more care or supervision than a NT child of the same age.
The form is really horrible to fill in. You have to think of your child on their worst day and fill it in based on that.

The worst they can say is no so you might as well give it a try.

The measure is if she needs more care than another child of her age which it sounds like she does. There is an excellent guide on the cerebra website which will help you fill in the form. It helps if you give lots of specific details so say what and how often she loses things or how long you spend each morning checking she has everything with her. And yes, I do feel guilty when I claim for my two but then I talk to friends with children the same age and realise how much more independent and self-sufficient they are.
