To medicate or not to medicate?

Hi. DS is 8yrs old and diagnosed with ADHD in October. We are also undergoing assessment for possible diagnosis of Aspergers (I'd put every last penny on him having this). After a disastrous experience with Medikanet we have now been prescribed Lisdexamfetamine, which DS started today. Within less than an hour his mood became very low and dark, he complained of several side-effects and a few hours later he vomited. DH wants to continue, I don't....the long-term side effects worry me as well as what I saw & experienced today but I'm finding it difficult to objectively research the pro's vs con's of medicating. I would really welcome any thoughts / advice / insights. TIA.

Meds are useful for some dc & not for others.
In your shoes I'd be asking the Dr or pharmacist a bit more
