DH (He's a community paediatrition) says yes. May call them dev paed if work in teaching hospital rather than in the community apparently.

Thank you very much. Do you know whether they are able to make dx or not. Can they rule certain things out? Sorry to sound neurotic but I really need to know! Thanks

Not sure what you're asking really - DH does developmental assessments to judge if a kid is within the normal perametres for its age, covers physical / verbal / social etc abilities. What sort of dx are we talking about?

Sorry to be so vague. Basically my dd has been dx with a speech and language disorder, dx by SALT and the paed. confirmed it. He also dx ADHD, and ruled out autistic spectrum disorder. I just think that sometimes I should have gone for a second opinion. What I think I am trying to get at is are community paed. qualified to rule out a dx, such as autistic spectrum?? Sorry for rambling,it's been a long day! Thanks

Yes -I'm pretty much certain they can rule that out

Thanks so much for that geogteach. Just worrying about dd sometimes as I find the speech and language disorder label quite vague. Thanks again KPB
