Touretts anyone???

Any touretts familys out there.
DS1 age 10 has just been dignosed.

ds1 (7) has tourettes, but he's severely autistic so it's part and parcel of the whole thing iyswim. It won't have the same social consequences for him either.

His worse tic is one that has him kneeling down and arching back- can make it difficult for him to do anything else!

Did you suspect tourettes before dx?

Hi jimjams2, DS1 is very bright and we have been through the range of things trying to work out whats going on, we had ADHD and ADD ruled out years ago and have been through the whole autistis spectrum till we got a winner.
DS1 has motion and vocal tic's (thankfully nothing rude), and i am trying to cram as much info as i can to work out how best to help him.
Thankfully he copes quite well with it, although sometimes he gets vert upset about it.

I did think it could be tourettes as i looked up things and read and tryed NOT to see the likeness to DS1 but i think in my heart of hearts i knew before it was confirmed.
DS1 took it well and said "well if i bum out at school i can always win big brother"
