ds severely autistic, non verbal sent home from school ill today. No temp, but clearly has a blocked nose / cold and has been uncooperative at school and lounging around unwilling to join in. Had planned to keep him home tomorrow but.. have no electricity as power company doing work in area (had thing in post a week or so ago) Ds obsessively watches dvds all day, heating and everything else is electric. Have no relatives where I can take ds. Am I being very unreasonable to send him in with a note explaining this? Just don't know what to do.

Thanks Polter. That's a good idea. I will give him some paracetamol stuff just in case.

I also give my boys ibuprofen and send them to school with the sniffles

Same here, I don't keep Dd at home with sniffles either.
