Hello!
We're a creative arts charity working with vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society, and this month we're putting on our ever popular creative:space event for children with disabilities and their families.
Music will be performed on the day by internationally renowned concert pianist and creative:space regular, Derek Paravicini (who is blind and has severe learning difficulties) and one of the liveliest ensembles on the UK Jazz scene, Bad Ass Brass.
Derek will be able to take music requests on the day, so start thinking about your favourite song! There will be plenty of space for children (and adults!) to dance along to the music, and percussion instruments will be handed out for part of the event so that all the family can join in the music-making. Alongside the music, exciting colouring activities and crafts activities are provided for all the family to enjoy!
One parent commented at a previous event "It was great to see the band walking the floor and intermingling with the audience. Everyone was very good at getting down to the children’s level both mentally and physically. It was wonderfully inclusive of all the young people and adults, regardless of ability."
