Ds review meeting this afternoon to find out if he is staying at the language unit after his assessment (we hope he is), meeting with the council tomorrow morning and a final evidence deadline for our tribunal appeal on Friday. Yeah! Confused

Council meeting is an odd one; they turned us down for a CSP (Scottish EHCP) in July but set this meeting up for now then. We hadn't even put in our appeal at that point. Apparently it is to discuss whether he needs a CSP but goodness knows why they decided in July that he didn't need one then but perhaps he might by November?!!

Sounds like a stressful week!
I don't know anything about the Scottish system so i'm not much help to you.
But good luck, i hope DS gets the place he needs Flowers and you'll probably be needing lots of Wine by the end of the week.

Thanks, fairgame. This afternoon's meeting is the most important; if they keep him at the unit for now then I think he should get the help he needs and his plan becomes less important. After all, it is the help and support I'm really after not a bit of paper with dubious merit. Will carry on with the appeal though (seems very similar process to the English SEND tribunals).

We got offered a place in the language unit Grin. (With a little bit of Sad that he needs it). They said some nice things about him but expect he will need to stay there for at least another year. Fingers crossed that his little buddy, the other P1 in the language unit, will be staying too as he is a big part of ds being so happy there.

Meeting with council tomorrow. Lot less worried about the CSP now but not going to give up as he is entitled to one and it will provide extra protection even if we are not after anymore support at this stage. Also curious as to what paperwork they bring as according to our DPA request they have pretty much nothing at all. (Thinking of putting in a complaint to ICO about that but just giving them enough rope first...)

Met with lea officer. We said we were actually happy with the support ds now has (since yesterday) so the CSP just needs to document it. She looked relieved/surprised when we said we were happy with the current support and seemed to change her tune regarding the CSP. So.... they have now conceded and offered us one!Grin Don't know what she thought we were asking for!
