Just wondered if anyone had any experiences of the Brainwave charity in Somerset.

does it seem good?

Hi

I grew up between Brainwave and BIBIC, in bridgwater, knew them both.

I take ds2 to BIBIC but for no specialr eason.

visited Brainwave a few times when nursing, and helped volunteer to help support a girl from there.

like anywhere, the individual routines vary and can't be commented on. However, I can say that the professionals absed there are reputable, the place is very well known and supported in the area and I know of some success stories- for example, the girl i worked with learned to smile and hold a drink- for her, major supposedly impossible tasks.

IIRC they share a background with BIBIC, with some staff (Directors?) leaving to set up a very similar but slightly different place, known as the Kerland Centre for many eyars, and now called Brainwave.
