Information request nightmare!!

I made a SARs request for all the information held on Dd3!

They have so far had more than 80 days to comply, the law says they should respond within 40!

Today they tell me that they havent yet spoken to Dd3 despite me giving them permission to do this in September!

I have given them until the close of business today to sort it out and have followed my phone call up with an email stating my disappointment Angry

What is the point of having laws and rules, when councils dont have to follow them Confused

can she give consent under the age of 16? I am doing my request on Monday and I did notice it now says something about that they don't have to give you the information - forgot how it was worded but did make me raise an eyebrow as im sure that wasn't on the form when I last applied.

80 days is taking the mickey though - how long does it take for them to get the bums in gear

The age is 12 apparently bjk and surprise surprise when I went bnkers and told them they have broken the law, suddenly they dont need her agreement any more Confused

And they wonder why we get paranoid Hmm

They have apparently posted it by special delivery but have emailed to say that they missed the last post so I will get it on Monday!! I wont hold my breath!

Why do we have to get really angry with these people to make them do their damn jobs!! If I was so crap at my job I would have been sacked by now Angry

yep - that is so true - im sending dh down on Monday to do mine - just need to get our documents together over the weekend.

last time I did it so much was missing so check it carefully - I wrote a long list of what was missing and they sent it and said it had been an 'error' in not sending it

I have specifically asked for all data held by the LA relating to Dd3's national curriculum levels and she didnt mention them today so it wouldnt surprise me if that is missing! She reckons most of what she has states that it has already been copied to me at some point so we will see!!

I have booked a meeting with our advisor on Thursday so will need to go through it with a fine tooth comb before that.

Contact the Information Commissioner and report them - I did this and copied in my LA - amazing how quickly they then found the documents I requested Hmm

Thanks JJXM I was wondering who I could complain to if they dont appear on Monday or if any information is missing!

It was amazing today how quickly they got everything ready [allegedly] after I had reminded them that they are breaking the law by not complying with my request!
