Conceding tribunal - 5 days or 5 working days

Still praying here but five working days has gone now.

Lea not called witness yet. Either they have such a fantastic case they need no witnesses or it's not going ahead

I think its 5 working days.
they might just turn up at the hearing with witnesses and make an application on the day for them to be allowed in.
I was worried my LA would do this and my solicitor advised that sendist would probably allow up to 3 witnesses in as they like to have uptodate info about the child.

My LA conceded the day before!

i know protocol is that they 'should' do it before and technically shouldn't in the last 5 days but im sure on here you will hear many people share their experiences that they can be conceded right up to the last minute and even mid hearing! I can see why the tribunal have the rule to try and cut down professional witnesses attending for no reason at all but the LA don't seem to care so will concede in their own time regardless of the mess it causes everyone.

The thing is school phoned me back yesterday. They didn't know where or when it was being heard and was genuinely shocked when I told them as the logistics are a nightmare to attend. So the lea hasn't even spoken to them about turning up.

There is defiantly a game being played, by I don't know what it is

i think you need to distance yourself from the witnesses if you can = I know its hard as you want to kind off keep them on side but you also don't want to do the LA job for them - you want them to be disorganised and witnesses not turning up etc and also what I have learnt in the past few weeks without me really realising it is that we have been played as everything we have said to school has been passed straight back to the LA , all the visits to secondary schools have also filtered back as well so you need to still keep you guard up. that said I have no idea what your LA are up to - its absolutely shambolic - they clearly know its going on next week as the caseworker has taken the time to email you but has not even sorted who is coming.

AgnesDiPesto · 16/10/2014 22:33

Are you sure it's not just the Sen officer presenting the case and they actually aren't intending to bring any witnesses. Why would you want to encourage them to bring witnesses? Surely your case is stronger if they don't as the rep won't be able to give any expert evidence that counters yours?
a parent can come without witnesses so a LA rep can too.

I really don't know what there playing at. The attendance sheet says he's bring people from school etc - just not named. I'm answering my phone or emails now anyway.

I don't want him to bring any witnesses - I want him to cock up. I want this statement. I want speech therapy and ot for my son at the very very least. I want them to see that a child who doesn't know what the days if the week are, has the lang of a child half his age, who can't flush a loo etc isn't a perfectly normal child.
