Oh its happening all over again with DD.

We had a review at her nursery today and we told them what DD,s Paed had said the other week that he was concerned about her and that he was thinking HFA.

The "specialist" HV immediately said "well he,s not an expert in ASD and he shouldnt be saying that"

So i told her that he does know about ASD,s after all he is a Peadiatrician FGS.

Well no she considers herself an expert as she is currently doing a post graduate in ASD,s and she apparantly knows better.

She told me "We need to get things in perspective here"

and "I know that you have concerns but she,s doing really well"

So the routines, rituals, speech difficulty, not socialising with other children are nothing to do with ASD and are apparantly quite normal for a 2 year old.

OK then i shall go away like last time, erm no i think not.
This morning i was ranting and raving and crying etc but this afternoon i have started to feel quite angry and ready to fight again.

Its ok when we do get the DX as i am 99.9% we sure, she will be the first that i shall ring to crow it over to.

Just like the LEA woman last week

I just had a really weird feeling of deja-vu but now realise it's because I read this on another forum.

Oh to see the Paed's face when someone tells him he isn't as qualified as a HV.

Sorry you're being given the run-around again. xxx

Ha, thats given fuel to light my fire against the HV.

Im going to just casually drop into conversation with the Paed that the HV disagrees with what he is saying when we next see him.

We live right on the border between 2 HA, and we have to have the HV,s from one side but we can choose to go to another hospital from the neighbouring HA, which we have as its so much better than the HV,s hospital.
They dont like each other and will slag each other off at every given opportunity.

But DD,s Paed is a lovely man, when we first voiced our concerns he put us (politely) in our place and told us that he will be the judge as he is the expert at spotting ASD traits in toddlers, well 12 months down the line and its him thats saying ASD so she stick that down her cakehole, its like my mum said to me before "why are you letting someone of little consequence try and tell you something that you already know and live with" but it just gets to me, its a sore point as ive been through it with DS, next theyll be saying its all in my head and offering my prozac like last time!!

Right, Rant over ....off for a large glass of wine!!!
