SS - should we have IEP?

Just that really. My DD started in reception at SS in September. In her MS preschool she had an IEP. I haven't heard anything though about one in SS. Should she have one or do they not do them in SS??

I think that under the new SEND system schools no longer have to write IEP's! However they do still have to set targets and put support into place to meet those targets and invite parents in to school to review them!
The new system goes something like this: Plan, Do, Assess, Review.

As far as I am aware SS's have the same rules. I am happy to be corrected though.

ineed is right although I did read somewhere that the transition period means IEPs can continue to april next year. my dd has just been given an IEP although I strongly suspect that is more to do with the fact we are mid tribunal so the LA has put pressure on them to do them

my other two sons are in SS and have always had IEPs. could be that your school are just having a settling in period and then will give you something

Thanks everyone. I'll put a note in the school diary and see what they say
