We had dds peadiatrician appointment today. More in detail then last time, loads of questions asked, lots of back story. I was expecting dd to be compliant and show nothing of what I am trying to get across like last time. Instead, she sat next to me, with her head covered on my lap. Refused to be weighed or measured. Once back in the waiting room, she started rocking on the chair, moving it in the process and kicking her legs out. Very mild for her, but the peadiatrician noticed it as we were waiting for a print out.
As long as dd scores highly enough on a repeated CAST questionnaire (last time, two years ago scored 12) and the school complete a questionnaire, might be language and social, they will refer her to the children and family consultation service who will then decide to do an ADOS assessment.
Fingers crossed we do get a referral as its been going on too long now. Dd has only been at school twice this week, tried every day but she refused three of the days. Still awaiting to hear about the PRU application, just to get her away from that school.
LA still want to go tp tribunal, while we gain more and more evidence that she should have SA that the LA will be forced to do it anyway. Once we have a statement, with the person helping me, it will happen, and a diagnosis of ASD, then the looking for suitable schools will start. Likely to be an out of county, independent special school as none in the area will be able to meet her needs fully as she is very bright.
