Do you know if a statment saying 'severe learning difficulties' could be changed to moderate in time?

My 9 year old daughter was given a diagnosis of severe learning difficulties two years ago. I think she has made brilliant progress and wondered if the statement could be amended?
I know she's going to have another ed psych report in year 5.
I just want her statement to be a true reflection of her needs. I think she's come along so well, I'm not sure severe is the right term anymore.

Well my DS was diagnosed with MLD at aged 7, then reassessed at 10 in yr6 and the diagnosis was removed as his scores were mainly in the average range apart from processing speed . He now has a diagnosis of aspergers which happened shortly after the 2nd EP assessment and a specific learning difficulty with processing. The first EP said she couldn't be sure of the results at the time as DS was so unfocused and distracted. The second EP said she had never come across a child whose scores had changed so much. I don't think his scores had really changed , don't think IQ does but I do think that the first set of results were inaccurate as I dont think it was possible for the EP to access his potential at the time. I didn't believe the MLD diagnosis was accurate at the time and feel much more comfortable with his diagnosis now. We moved DS to a special unit in Mainstream following the first EP assessment. He is now in Yr9 at a mainstream secondary and doing very well. So to answer your question, yes I do think things can change especially as your DD was assessed quite young.

Her Statement wouldn't be amended without her being reassessed but that's going to happen anyway and he revised statement will reflect this. My DS's statement was amended. However both statements didn't mention mich about the labels but more about his scores and target areas to focus on
