Does anyone have any advice. 9week old has tongue tie (and associated colic - poor little thing). Not much was explained at the time but after looking it up on internet realise that the colic is linked and feel so bad that poor little thing has to go through this. At her 6 week check the doc said it wasn't too bad as she is feeding ok and putting weight on so she doesn't have to have the 'snip'. I'm pleased as I can't bear the thought of her having to go through that, but am I being selfish would 30 seconds of pain be better for her in the long run rather than weeks more of trapped wind, colic etc? Anyone help?

It varies from baby to baby. I have a tongue tie, and apart from an inability to french kiss and the occasional painful experience of getting it caught between lower teeth (mostly as child blowing raspberries) it has never bothered me. I was bfed and AFAIK had no wind/colic probs; but it certainly can affect babies. Try running a search, there are a lot of tongue tie threads with advice about whether to snip or not. HTH.
