Mercury levels testing and treatment.

DD has autism and looking into getting her mercury levels tested and treated if needed. Is there clinic/hospital within the UK that will do this? I think there was a hospital that treats children with AS in London, but it was 2 years ago I heard this and can't remember the name.

Has anyone got any experience with this? Anything we can do from home?

Mercury levels, wasn't that completely discredited?

With later vaccinations but not with the ones given 10+ years ago.

I was in a meeting up with my 'AS mum friends' last night and we all got talking about it.

I would just like to get my DD tested and hopefully rule it out but if it does come back high then hopefully we will be able to find treatment. I do remember being on a course a couple of years ago with treating autism and there was a talk about high levels of mercury and treatment at a hospital/clinic in London.

I'm just here to try and help DD and would rather not have to justify myself.

Hens MNSN is not the place for this question. Try some Facebook groups where you might get a better answer.

You can't cure autism but you can surely make a whole lot of difference using a variety of different approaches. Good luck, hope you find the information you are looking for.

put it this way OP if you have to go through facebook groups and you can't talk openly about it, itcs highly unlikely there will be a hospital which will do the 'treatment', you are lining the pockets of very rich nasty people who have very little knowledge but do a whole lot of damage.

the reason these things are not practiced is because, frankly the do more damage than good.

I'm certainly not looking for a cure and wouldn't want to take the autism away for DD as it's a part of her. I love and idolise DD as she is but I will always be looking into therapy and treatment to make her little life easier. She does suffer from a disease but that one isn't called autism.

Right I really didn't know much about 'mercury levels testing' hence starting the thread. histori why isn't this the place to ask this question? Sorry I've probably missed some certain thread about this or something?

MNSN is a very good place for support and many other things but not when it comes to cutting edge therapies for Autism. Put it this way, asking about biomedical treatments on MNSN is a bit like going to a mosque and asking for Jesus, just not going to go down very well as you can see from the tone of the posters here.

There are many parents around the world who have recovered their kids from Autism using a mix of different approaches, some of these parents are doctors themselves who are trying to pass on that knowledge so not everyone is out there to line their pockets, except some of them are but you can say that about any SN provision.

Just in case I came across badly, *hensfunny" I wasn't pressing you or asking for justification, as an adult With HFA I was genuinely curious where the information came from.

The posters here are really very good at coming up with solutions and work around to help your child, they take a "work with" approach. Just make a thread in the special needs chat and depending on the problem someone will answer.

piratejones your post is pure scaremongering. One needs to research about treatment offcourse, but just because it is not offered in UK doesn't mean it is not safe or suitable.

Yes, i went into my local muslim centre and ask how many times isa (jesus) was mentioned in the Quran.

Not at all, you gave me a poorly laid out website of anecdotal "evidence", i gave you a name and his story, you may search Doctor James R. Laidler in any search engine and get his findings (old pre 2005, and new 2007 onwards) instantly you.

Believe it or not we gave pretty equal evidence.

Yes, it was a last ditch attempt at finding something to grasp at (playing top trumps with disabilities) when i linked to the updated research of James R. Laidler who now doesn't believe the alternative therapies he himself started, because there is no way to come back from it.
