could anyone help me with ep report?

Would anyone be able to help with understanding the outcome of my dd's sen ep report please.
It isn't very clear.

Happy to help, but the report really should have been written carefully and clearly and even if it is and you are uncertain, you should be able to seek clarification from the person who wrote it. (I prefer such clarifications to be done in writing so you have the evidence of them and don't forget them).

Dd is 6.6 yo they have given her age equivalence of 4.6.

I understand the report up untill it says...

"Cognitively dd presents with overall below average profile, her problem solving skills and verbal skills coupled with poor attention and concentration skills would not appear to be why she is currently operating below the expected levels of the national curriculum.

At the moment it's difficult to recommendations as there is not a clear holistic picture available"

I'm struggling to understand how that wouldn't be reason for dd to struggle at school?

Also I didn't think dd had verbal problems, nobody else has ever said as such and I don't think she has either.

I think that the EP is saying that she is 'below average' cognitively, but operating much further behind than he/she would expect someone with that cognitive profile to be operating.

To give an example, say an optician did an eye exam and the person was fractionally short-sighted. They might then be surprised if the person in question could barely read anything unless it was extremely close, because their testing didn't indicate that sort of problem. It might turn out to be the fact that the light is switched off, which has added to the slight short sightedness.

The EP is saying that he/she feels it isn't as simple as 'not very bright'.

This is ambiguous. It could be read as:
her [relatively strong] problem solving skills and verbal skills coupled with poor attention and concentration skills would not appear to be...

Or that those are also weaknesses.

I read it as her weaknesses as the beginning of the report stated those as problems sorry should have explained that.

So in all its down to more than the problems identified?

I was expecting more of a plan i think.

Is this an LA EP report? Do you have the percentile scores of the assessment and know which assessment was used?

Vc -21st percentile
Ps -14th percentile
Nv-21st percentile
M-27th percentile

It depends what scale they're using. 'Normally' a normal result is anything between 16th-84th percentile.

So all her results except one fall in the 'low average' range and that one is only just below.

The sentence is ambiguous. Ring the EP to ask for clarification.
I just looked at my son EP report and average is between 25 th and 75th centile, that's on the BAS 3 subtlest. Do you know which test was used?

I read that as :-
We have tested her for problem solving skills and verbal skills coupled with poor attention and concentration skills and [because her scores are well within average parameters] her scores do not explain why she is currently operating below the expected levels of the national curriculum.
Further investigations are needed to determine why this child has difficulties.

In all my dd's tests where there's a centile score, her results are much more spiky, some in the 70 and 80's and 90's coupled with several in the 2's in the same test.

BAS sub test 3 is what it says.

The trouble with calling him is he is hard to get ahold of I have waited months just to receive this report. Then he sent it to a completely made up address?.

The other reports I have from cahms and ot say they think dd's problems are due to dysexecutive reasons and want her seen by neurodevelpmental dr. Does this report fit with that too? I'm not sure.
