On holiday at the mo with DS 7, severe language delay and ASD. We arrived on Friday, DS went straight to the trampoline (main reason I booked this cottage) whilst we were unpacking, 2 younger siblings from the next holiday cottage also went into the play area.
I heard DS say to them " and I am minirinky" they then responded with their names and they carried in playing - together!
Each time we return from a day out, the children run over shouting, "yeah, it's mini rinky, come and play with us " and he goes over and plays on the trampoline and swings with them.
DH said that yesterday when we returned, minirinky said to the little boy,

" I went to the supermarket". Little boy then says to his dad, I want to go to the supermarket, and promptly kicked off when his dad said no.
He's been into their cottage when they've invited him, on his own,and when we're out, says" back to holiday day house and see ...(names of the 2 children)"
The family don't get how major this is for us, we're practically I tears listening to him talking to them and watching him,but I bloody love those children and the family.

Ah, that's great! Makes the effort of going on hol worth it. More therapy in a few days than in a whole term with the professionals I'll bet!
