Any experience disclosing ASD when applying for Aprenticeship?

Depends if he needs any accommodations to help him succeed. It can be dodgy ground in some cases, they aren't allowed to discriminate on disability grounds, but some workplaces are very sneaky about getting rid of faces that don't fit.
My DS with AS has been both open about his dx and lucky with the responses. I know that others have had very different experiences.

DawnBy, did your DS apply for an apprenticeship? May I ask in which industry? Could you tell a little about the responses?

I know that a while back - maybe a year or two - someone posted on this board about having an apprentice or something like it with ASD as part of their team (I think it might have been a film crew, or something like it?) and what a positive experience it had been for all concerned.

It was a lovely post, really positive and totally re-affirmed my slightly faltering belief in human nature. I'll try and find it and post a link.
