my son has a new senco he introduced himself to me and said" i understand DS has AS not that i know much about ASD " is this standard practice that sencos are given the job, but dont know anything about the disability of the kids im aware that everyone needs to learn there job but shouldnt they be trained beforehand otherwise they are in effect using my child as a guinea pig ,if they dont know how to talk to, calm, encourage, or help DS and may do more harm than good surely.
Do i have to accept this and are the lea happy with this or am i being to picky and should i just be grateful he has a senco at all
sorry to bombard you with questions but i dont want to look silly by saying the wrong thing on tuesday
