DLA Renewal Question

Filled and sent off DLA renewal forms today. We have just been through SA so had plenty of recent reports to send in as supporting evidence including letters from hospital consultants, preschool and ed psych SA reports, and the proposed statement- all of which contained plenty of specific info about care/support needed (proposed statement provides 32.5 hrs a week 1:1).

With this in mind (and the fact that it's the school hols so people aren't on hand to write stuff) I left the section of the form that asked for someone who knows the child to write about their needs, and in the section wrote that there were several reports of this nature enclosed.

It's in the postbox now so too late to change anything, but I'm worrying now that it looks 'bad' that I didn't get someone to fill in that bit of the form?!

Do you think it will be ok??

Also, while I'm on, does anyone know how quickly renewals are being dealt with at the moment?

Renewal date isn't until November so hopefully plenty of time for them to look at it before then. Yes, fingers crossed!

I just sent off renewal as dd turned 5 we left the same section blank and hrc and lrm awarded for five years for autistic dd. Also we were given a answer within a month. So pretty quick.

I never filled this in on ds first claim. The reports spoke for them selves, I don't think it matters, esp for a renewal

And they was quick - less than one month

I didn't fill that part in. I sent reports and letters from the paediatrician though.

Actually, thinking back to our first application, I asked the nursery leader to fill that section in and she wrote a useless load of rubbish. Despite including several medical reports we were refused initially and then awarded after requesting a reconsideration. So, perhaps it is better just to let all the reports speak for themselves.

Still, why let good old logic get in in the off a post-posting panic hehe! ;-) Thank again x
