Sorry for the rant but I am so angry right now and I want to make a complaint but want to make sure it gets to someone who isnt going to dismiss it.
My DS has an ABI from Meningitis, despite doing lots of research, getting Meningitis Now support worker out to visit us, meeting with school and pushing to have him assessed by an E.P I have just found out that despite meeting with the E.P in January and being told DS is being visited and assessed by another EP in April that no assessment has been made at all!!
I have been constantly pushing to get the report of the assessment I stupidly thought had been done and after talking to IPSEA and them urging me to put my own evidence in and make a request for a Stat Assesment, they also said I would need the copy of the report from the EP! To find out they STILL haven't bothered to assess him has left me fuming and its all down to being under staffed.The E.P at my sons school was replaced in Feb, she is a retired EP that only works 2 days a week so cant make any meetings and I am yet to hear from her despite assurances from the school that she is going to contact me.
I want something to be done about this, no way should we still be waiting 7 months because the system is under staffed.Im desperately trying to get him the help he needs before he goes into secondary school and this is time wasted and Im so angry.
I will fire off a letter of complaint to the education dept but is there anyone else that might sit up and listen to this joke that is supposed to be my DSs special educational needs??
