Can't get him ready for school.............

Ds1 has adhd, he will not get up and get ready for school, it is a battle of wills everyday, I feel so exhausted, any tips anyone?

Do you use visual timetables? That might help. A small pic showing a boy getting out of bed. A small pic of a boy having his breakfast. Simple pictures. All put together on one big A4 sheet?

You have my sympathies, I have the battle of the wills all day every day too. And is massively exhausting.

It has a pic of a bed, then toast, then a nappy, then clothes, then brushing hair, then brushing teeth, then a pic on an arrow pointing down the stair, then a pic of shoes, then of a coat, a school bag, the car and lastly a pic of a school. Mine are simple, sort of clip art type pics.

You could take digital pics of him getting ready in the morning. one weekend when oyu have help and laminate them and put them in a book.
Take a pic of his school etc etc?

Thanks Tc, just been to town to pick up some bits and bobs to make one. I have bought coloured stars too. I will let you know how I get on. I have also got some old mags so we can cut pictures out.Hopefully this will help.
