Hi
I am having issues with my 5 year old and was wondering if anyone could help. The whole story is very long and has been going on since she was a baby, so will try and keep it short.

There have been certain behaviours that have been difficult over the years a few of the main ones are -

  • she cannot wear certain clothes she just gets in a frustrated rage and pulls at them and tantrums such as socks and certain shoes and clothes. She also has to wear certain clothes for example top, trousers and acceptable socks to bed even in the hot weather she will get frustrated and angry if anything is different.
  • she cannot cope with parties or the cinema, loud noise and large groups of people.
  • she is funny with foods.
  • she will not talk to certain people including family members.
  • she spends most of the time changing between moods. There is a lot of frustrated anger and pure rage. She also has involuntary body jerks when angry and used to throw herself into things now its just her legs. We just have daily constant strops with a few happy spells at the minute.
  • she is very behind at school and they have concerns.
  • she prefers to stand and watch others also has never really played with toys will only write draw or play with bricks but thats in the last year before she would just wander around for no reason.
  • she has in the past never wanted cuddles and tried getting away everytime now i get an occasional hug but still not happy about it.
  • she has to touch everything.
  • was a very fussy and upset baby didnt settle easily.

-she has problems sleeping.

Theres more and it is probably a bit jumbled but that is just some. I am a bit all over the place at the minute. I am also waiting for gp to ring and school will be dealing with it to.

Hi
Thanks for replying :)
Ive got a phone call booked for tomorrow as the next appointments were weeks away so will tell the gp all.

I came across sensory processing disorder by chance earlier and a lot rang true. I am just trying to research more about it.

I will take a look at the fact files, thank you.

I am just so confused as I thought there may have been something but thought maybe they were just funny quirks or a phase instead but now with school saying theres learning problems its making me rethink. I thought if I posted here to get some outside views it may help uncloud things a bit.
