dd (14, yr9) has an undiagnosed condition which means she cannot walk and uses a wheelchair. She also has difficulty moving her right and sometimes her left arm. It is being treated as a psychosomatic problem at the moment and she is just about finished a psychotherapy assessment with CAMHS.
Today in school she developed uncontrollably jerky legs. She has had this before but only for short periods. I got a call from school at 11.30 to say that her legs were spasming and asking me to collect her. When I got there dd told me that they had said they were sending her home because she might kick someone else. Her legs were moving around a lot but not flying out in front of her so I think it is very unlikely that she would hurt anyone else.
dd was fine in herself and not very keen to go home. If she was missing a lesson she liked she would have been upset.
Her legs are still jerking uncontrollably. I will phone GP tomorrow and attempted to contact physio today but no reply. However I expect to be told that it is part of the same thing.
I am not prepared for her to miss more school because of the school's bogus concerns but I'm not sure how to tackle it.
Any ideas?
