Just from the sheer number of phone calls and forms and meetings you have to get through in a day?

Granted mine are on a bit of a high note at the moment due to medical assessments, a change in school and other issues, but still, the floor needs a Hoover and the cat needs a bath before the child comes home from his grandads but all I want to do is have a beer and a very long sleep.

On the plus side, today I have made a magical discovery! The paediatrician has an email address! After 2 weeks of trying to get hold of his secretary to pass on a message, chasing up the secretary, being on hold and failing miserably, I googled his name, found an email address and got an answer in minutes off the man himself!

Anyway off to make the beds Hmm

Yep me too, after a school year of crap, needs not being met and 2 tribunals I am done in!

Great news about finding the paediatricians email address!! I have Dd3's paeds too. It comes in very handy Grin

Urgh tribunals, I'm very lucky to have not have had one yet, although I thought I'd have to this year (DS having to move schools and the LEA wanted to put him in the special school that has had loads of allegations of abuse because the other one is full to bursting)

But I managed to blag my way out of that one with some creative ramblings about appropriate peer groups Wink

Understand completely. The paperwork for kids with sen is a full time job.

Yes. I am mumsnetting because I just can't face finishing the DLA form (that needs to be in next week).

bluebirdonmyshoulder · 12/06/2014 22:11

Exhausted here too.

Can't see an end to it.

Snap NoHaudin! I also have a DLA form that needs to be in next week for DS and mine isn't actually a case of finishing it because I've only filled in the 'easy' personal details bit so far!

Yes I am exhausted too - DD now being assessed for a statement so parental views to put together with indi reports (which need amending first.) Last week I sent off case for DS to be assessed for a statement. If it goes the same way as DD's request (i.e. initially refused) that will mean putting in an appeal against refusal to assess and more paperwork.

Then the joke is that I've got all this paperwork and both DS and DD have been out of school (anxiety from needs not being met) since Jan so they are around and I should be putting in a bit of home ed. (Still chasing for a home tuition from the LA).

Finally there is the little 'sideline' of trying to find suitable schools for DS and DD. Some good progress for DD this week as she has done taster sessions at a school which seems to meet her needs. Exhaustion factor there is that it is an hour's round trip twice a day and at the moment she is only spending a couple of hours there!

Yes you can include me! I'm mentally drained trying to get the help we need for DS. Utterly exhausting is having to deal with people who just don't care and would rather not help if its means less work for them.

It makes me despair of what our society can be like. I was feeling a bit down about it all today, so I made a list of all the people who HAVE helped us. I will keep that list to look back on when I need a lift!
